We delved into the powerful relationship between Desire and Self-Control.
To understand our minds, we looked at the mechanics of a car. A car needs a powerful engine to move forward, but it is the brake that ensures the journey is safe.
• The Engine (Desire): Our desires are like an engine; they provide the energy, passion, and drive to pursue our goals.
• The Brake (Self-Control): Without a functioning brake, even the fastest car becomes a dangerous weapon. Self-control is the "brake" of our heart that allows us to stop, reflect, and stay on the right path.
We learned that true freedom doesn't come from doing everything we want, but from having the strength to stop ourselves when necessary. A life with only an engine and no brake leads to a crash, but a life with both leads to a successful destination.
Today’s Activity:
• Check My Engine: What is a strong desire or "want" I have right now?
• Test My Brake: In what situation do I need to practice saying "No" to myself to stay safe and grow?
Our students are learning that the greatest power isn't just "going fast," but knowing exactly when and how to stop. We are cheering for our learners as they master the controls of their own minds.
